I hate IE7!

One of my recent projects has been composing a sales letter for my new ebook. I'm using Dreamweaver and the text colors for my page are blue, red and black. It looks wonderful in Firefox...exactly as it looks in Dreamweaver, but for some unfathomable reason IE7 keeps wanting to turn the text all red.

I've tried everything I can to make it stop the red where I don't want it, it's not coming from the CSS, it's not coming from a span tag, it's just making me crazy. In the past it was Firefox that gave me fits when things didn't fit exactly, but this project is perfect in Firefox.

So here's my page... sorry if you see a lot of red when you view it in IE7!

First it was Cody Moya pushing it on me and now (a bit late to the game) here's Paul Darby trying to sell this scam program about getting Google pay per click for free. They have both lost my respect over this.

The sales letter for this is a slippery scam. It sounds too good to be true and therefore it is. I will wager you dollars to donuts that neither one of these men has purchased this report and implemented it to make money. They are just trying to take your money by selling another Clickbank product.

Believe me, if you buy this item, you will not learn how to scam Google out of paying for your Adwords. You might learn how to drive some traffic to your web pages and then have them click on some of your own ads there. It's called arbitrage. You try to make more from your sales than the cost of the Adwords. That's no secret as people have been doing it for years already and it makes good common sense. Don't let yourself be scammed by these slick sales letters.

I just discovered this feature in Yahoo search. A .txt download was provided for me to place in the piemoney.com root on my host. The supposedly will authenticate my site within 24 hours. Now I don't think this is a way to get listed in Yahoo, but maybe another way to get noticed.

I just realized that when I see an advertisement for something now that's
free, I immediately look for the strings...what are they going to try and
sell me? Sometimes I won't even go look at the free item because my mind
tells me it's probably worth the price.

Conversely, if I see something offered for sale, the price always seems too
high to me. I'll go look to see if someone's giving it away for free....

Michael Cheney sells his 500 Words script (Linksizzler) for $897! These guys are claiming that tens of thousands of dollars have been made selling plain old text links for $50+ each. I ask you: would you pay $50+ for a text link on a zero PR web page? They have sold out one page and now are on their second.

I feel baited and switched or something like that. In the Sunday Circuit City circular I found a slick deal. Kingston Technologies 512MB PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM Notebook Memory for $39.99 after two mail in rebates. We have two notebooks that need upgraded memory... this was a super deal and I went and bought two packages. After I got home and began to fill out the rebate forms I discovered that there is only one rebate per address and one rebate per type of item. That meant one of my memory strips would not be eligible for the rebate and would end up costing the regular price. I went back to the store and returned one of the packages today. I have a very let down feeling toward Circuit City now. In fact, I might even say they kind of "suck". Why can't they just have a sale and give a lower price at the checkout. This mail in rebate stuff really stinks.

If anyone is looking for me, I've been offline for some time. Something erased my profile from the old desktop 'puter. We found some nasties here and don't know exactly what caused the trouble. Right now I'm researching something called TrojanClicker.Win32.VB.ij. It's taken residence in the registry and I'm scared to touch those files. Looking for a program that will safely remove it for me.

Now I am really suspicious of these new virus/trojan programs that our old standby protection programs cannot be updated to handle. Isn't it so convenient that there's a brand new program waiting to be purchased to take out this brand new pest?
Argh! .......urge to kill!

I lost a lot with this crash. There was an ebook well underway with image files... all lost. Now I will begin all over again because I will not be daunted, just a bit delayed. See y'all soon.

elite team surfing - is it worth the time and effort?

I recently joined this elite team surfing site. Last week I won second place in their surfing contest and that gave me three months free in an upgraded account. Now I consider that to be worth it, but is it really worth it for those running only the free accounts? Is the traffic really targeted enough? I know that I was a targeted visitor while I was doing all that contest surfing. I was only stopping to view the sites that really caught my interest...and there were a few of them. This one is a bit different from the rest. Might want to take a look!

Right now I'm using Cheapwebhostingcentral for their $4.58 per month service. I love it and have no problems at all during the past 9 months. That's where all my hobby Mybiztraffic.com pages are located.

The only thing I would like more than that account offers is more data bases than one and possibly being able to have more than one domain on the same account. So, I guess that means I have learned a lot there and have outgrown their lower level service.

Recently an offer came to me for lifetime service that I didn't refuse. So this means I will now be learning how to move my website pages to another server.

The deal I took is at Bizgoldhosting. It's $170 for lifetime hosting; so I only need to keep it for 3 years to have what I would have paid at my present host. I'll have much more to play with there; so I think I' chose wisely. So far the service is impressive and fast.

It does help that they are English speaking, too. I had some trouble understanding the answers to my support tickets with my old host.

Watch for a new domain out on the web. It's not up yet but should be soon. I picked a family named site to establish my home address on the web: Sniderplanet.us My business domains will follow me there.

Be sure to Post as often as you can in your blog

The minimum posting frequency should be once a week. When you start posting at your blog for the first time, include a minimum of 20 to 30 posts to start with. Your posts can consist of short articles (150-300 words), news, and updates related to the Resell Rights product or the nature of the product.

If you are using Blogger.com, archive your posts on a daily basis and build internal links between your pages so that you can quickly build your blog’s Google page ranking (PR).

Before August 2005, Google Adsense was indisputably the best way to monetize web pages. That was when Yahoo Publisher beta was released to challenge the Google giant.

Recently there have been a lot of people losing their Google Adsense accounts. If you are one of these unfortunates, the Yahoo Publisher ads mean you can get right back into the game. Others are faced with the question…. which is best?

While Google Adsense ads have been paying less over time, Yahoo Publisher ads have been paying very well. They have not been as well contextually targeted, though, and may not perform as well overall with your targeted traffic. I would suggest running a split test to see which is best for your pages.

Get your account at yahoo.publisher.com. See which one is better for your bottom line as that is the most important factor in any business decision.

The back office interfaces of the two are very similar. There is at least one ad group size (125x125 button) missing from the Yahoo listing and no banners option, but colors and tracking work the same and the script for the ads is very similar. Unlike some other optional ad networks, when first looking at it, there is a very short learning curve.

Yahoo Publisher can only get stronger and better with time. Right now they appear to have a limited ad pool to draw on, but that can change and will allow them to better match the ads to the page keywords. With such a strong challenger in the market, Google should get stronger too. Competition is good for the market.

See which one will pay you more and then stick with your particular winner.

I had to turn off "comments" on this blog today. What I suspect is happening is that there is some new software out there which makes it easy to send random comments to blogs. I was getting practically the same message over and over telling me how nice my blog is and will I please take a look at their site.

It's just a ploy to get a link on my blog pointing back to their site. Why don't they just get a blog of their own? Oh I get it...they want 1,000 links pointing to their site from 1,000 blogs. Somehow, I think that isn't going to work.

I received an email to day from an ezine that I read trying to persuade me to join an affiliate training program. I was offered an introductory membership for a ridiculously low price and right then I thought to myself...uh huh how much will this cost me?

It took a long while reading to find the bottom line. The intro was only $1. That would get me in the door to see all the goodies waiting for me. As I see more and more these days, you have to actually begin the payment process to find out how much it really will cost for this adventure. This particular one is $29.99 per month! I hit my back button pretty fast when I saw that.

It was not the end of it though. I thought if this Internet guru is as great as he sells himself to be, there must be some "stuff" out on the net about him and what he has accomplished.

I put his name into Google and lo and behold, found all kinds of truly fr*ee goodies of his for my further education. He's an article writer for one thing. I found one site that had an archive of 33 of his articles and I learned a lot from them. He has built his business empire around writing helpful articles and publishing them in many different archives. His name brings up about 28,100 entries on Google; so you get some idea of how prolific he is.

If you want to go where I've been and learn what I now know... Google the name "Anik Singal" and read some of his articles. You can probably find for fr*ee a lot of what he is selling now for $29.99 per month.

I've been really busy recently working to put html RSS feeds on my web pages. This is the hottest tool on the web right now and I am sure easy ways to apply it have to be made before long. I only wish I was able to make one myself. For now I'm trying to figure out how to use a perl script for this and I don't know perl. I will do this! I already know how to put feeds on pages with Java.

Now you might want to know why RSS?

RSS will put fresh new content on a web site. Search engines love this and will improve your web page ranking if you have it. Increased rank means more fr*ee traffic to look at your pages. Traffic means good business. If I am trying to sell affiliate products, I need all the good targeted traffic I can get. RSS puts fr*ee fresh content on my pages with very little effort on my part. Search engines cant read Java RSS,
but they can read it when its converted to html. This is my goal for this
week. If you check the page link I have given you, that will be the first
page I put it on.

I have not been using this blog to its best advantage. Yesterday I learned how to use the Google toolbar Blogger button to capture info and send it to my blog and it has become clear to me that one huge blog will not accomplish what is needed. I will be setting up separate business blogs for each of my various pages. I thought it would be tedious sending info to a lot of different blogs, but Google has made it easy.

Today I learned how to include RSS using Java on my web pages. Hopefully this can help put fresh information on dated pages or never let them become dated. Find the directions for doing this at Feed2JS It was an exciting discovery for me and I hope someone reading this can benefit from the find. I also came across a nice free site with SEO tools on it Instantposition I doubt it will be "instant" position, but their tools are nice :-)

Another page for my collection! I am proud of this one. I've combined my affiliation with Switchisp with an Adsense page using the keyword "ISP". I'm advertising with Adwords my Switchisp affiliate link, but arbitraging that with the Adsense ads on the page. Hopefully the traffic will be good to me and I will come out ahead on this one. So, here is my ISP page!

Some of my arbitrage trials are not too profitable. This is because the ads are not paying enouth to cover the expense of sending the people to the page with Adwords. The Honda page gets decent traffic, but doesn't pay enough. I turned off the content part of the Adwords because some dufus in Portugal was pounding on my Adwords ad. I hate when that happens!

That's what it took to get me through the project I just finished. I made my first mini site! Just an hour ago I got all the buttons on the page working right. You cannot have one tiny thing out of place or it just will not work. Pulled an all nighter last night fiddling with it and ta da! Take a look at Choosing Your New Computer Furniture There is a lot of traffic for the keywords "computer furniture" and "computer chair"; and not many affiliates for them. I don't know if it will work for arbitrage, but it may just rise in rank to capture traffic by itself. I built it...let them come ;-)

As you will note from my ad below, I am watching Paydotcom from the inside. I do think they will give ClickBank a bit of a squeeze, but I don't think they will put them out of business. ClickBank has developed a system that insures the quality of products bought there. I don't see that same structure for nurturing excellence in the open market of Paydotcom.

How will I ever keep this page up-to-date? There's just too much to tell. Yesterday was my oldest daughter's birthday. She's away in Sydney and it was difficult not to even be able to talk with her. I hope she enjoyed her day with friends and had a great trip.

Yesterday there were power storms most of the day. We didn't lose the electricity, but had lots of surges and interruptions. Something went wrong with our cable gateway box and so it was off to the BestBuy store for another one and then hours of fritzing with it to have a workable system again. Our cable is better than ever now. Thank goodness we had Switchisp for my husband to use. He has to have his WOW time. All of his friends on there would miss his super stupendous Druid protective powers in their battles against Lucifron in the Molten Core.

Yesterday I may have made a mistake. Not sure yet. I have been making purchases which were processed by Clickbank. I thought well, if I am purchasing, there must be many others who do as well. Clickbank must be a great thing to hook up with. I joined the CBMall and the Searchfeast search engine. Why do I now doubt my move? I read about PayDotCom in the ZurduForum. PayDotCom is obviously targeting ClickBank. The question is, will it work? Will it be able to maintain the same quality that ClickBank provides? ClickBank has some very high standards and there may be a very good reason for that. One other observation is that I have never bought anything or even seen anything advertised that is coming from Paydotcom. Is it still too new or is that also a sign? Will be watching this closely. ClickBank has a nice money back guarantee policy. I need to look and see how PayDotCom's compares.

Meanwhile, still looking into an e-book for Switchisp. Not sure if I want to write myown or use Supertips. I'm working on this. I need to get more pages up for the Adwords arbitrage business. Yesterday the ratio was not so good. I spent more on Adwords clicks on the Hybrid Cars page than I took in for the Adsense ads clicks. It's like fishing. Yesterday my bait got stolen and I didn't catch any fish ;-) Bummer!

I have two people signed with my Zurdu link.... life is good! Haven't a clue which ad got that result. I've used my new flash traffic exchange page for about 4,000 views on TopGunTraffic. My question for today is: How many times does a page have to be shown on TopGun before someone clicks on it? I'll bet most people just have it running to get credits for their own page to be shown and pay it no mind.

First, I got the pump up on Ebay. You can see it here Auction I already have one bidder and 2 watchers. This is really interesting now, and 6 days to go. I learned something important as well. The company that provides the counters for the auction pages has a very interesting web site. Look HERE and you can search for any item you might want to put on Ebay to find past and present auctions. This is important for knowing what things generally sell for and what a good starting price might be. I sure wish I had seen that page before I set up my first item. There must be 40 examples of my item on there....all sold for nice prices too. Now all I need to do is see what else I can find to sell that is in demand.

I managed to get two of my little pages uploaded and set up. I'm doing James Jones Google Adwords Arbitrage system. See the links on the side to my yoga and hybrid cars pages. I'm hoping to drive traffic to those pages with a Google Awords ad and then have the customers poke around in my Adsense ads. Who knows? He says it works. We shall see.

I've about decided not to write myown ebook for Switchisp I have found one that will probably do very nicely and save me a lot of time. I'm thinking of using Harvey Segal's 101 Supertips. It's loaded with all kinds of explanations and ideas for newbies. Should work well with a Switch ad in the front of it. Gotta think on it a bit more.

Next I need to set up an autoresponder with some intro letters. I've got 2,500 emails to send out. None of the list I tried to sell for the 4th at YMAuctions sold. I guess there just are no marketers there...either that or the YMAuction is a dead place.

Today I received a box in the mail. It contained the free personal DVD player I won at www.Topfreegifts.com I completed 3 "offers" and jumped through a couple of hoops and here it is! The offers were not free for me. Some of my online friends will run through the offers and then cancel them; so their gifts are nearly free. I wanted the things I signed up for, though. One was Dental Plans where I found one which I had been looking for that had my dentist listed in it. Another was Literary Guild. I don't mind buying a few new books. My third offer was signing up for a new credit card. That one just joined the collection. I may cancel that soon as I have enough of those.

The news here, though, is that these free offers online can work. You have to pay very close attention to details and stay on top of what's going on - and never give up! If you sign up for more than one freebie plan, you can get a bit overwhelmed with the details. I am also running one with www.Everyfreegift.com It requires more offers completed (6) as I am going for a larger gift....a DVD player with a hard drive in it. We need that one for our downstairs TV. The upstairs one has Tivo on it. The personal DVD player is for my middle child's birthday gift. She will be delighted as she can use it to run her exercise videos anywhere.

For the www.Everyfreegift.com deal I have to complete 6 offers. So far, it's been 45 days since I began and I did all the deals on the first day. They are easy, but you have to keep track of how long they have run and cancel before being charged a monthly fee. This morning I was pleased to see that 3 of my offers were approved, which means I can download the needed certificates and print it out to send for my DVD machine. I need to wait till I have all 6 certificates to send in. Two of the offers still show "in progress" and the 6th has been driving me nuts because it shows as still "pending". I called them up and told them it's past the 45 days. They told me to fax them proof of the one that's pending and the rest is good to go. That's great news! My fax is sent and soon I hope to report that I have a new DVD machine here with very little effort on my part.

I spent most of the rest of my day studying how to run an auction on Ebay. Did I tell you about the air mattress inflator I got from my daughter's trash? I found one just like it that sold for over $60 on Ebay last February. I'm going to get mine up there to see what kind of fish I can catch. It's not a good time of year for selling with people on vacation, but I need to get my feet wet and this looks like a good item to start out with.

Oh my... friend Hans will give me advice to "focus" again. I am way sidetracked again from doing my niche pages.

you know what happens to the best of intentions. I fought with my cable connection all day. The repair man will be here tomorrow afternoon. Today I would have to turn off the computer, unplug the gateway box, wait 60 seconds and then replug and boot up the computer...did that about 4 times. The signal would last for maybe 30 minutes. Finally the Comcast person would acknowledge that there is something wrong with the line and a repair person must work on it.

My back-up now is Switchisp. I'm glad to have it and it works just as well as my old AT&T dial up connection. That's small consolation. I love my broadband and I'm spoiled.

Needless to say, I did not get much work done today. Lucky me to be retired. There's always tomorrow....

Everyone who is anyone is now doing Google advertising arbitrage. James Jones is the first to call it "Arbitrage". Today I received email from Perry Marshall discussing the use of paid advertising vs. free. He said: "You should do both. Sure, free is always a great deal, but you should still buy advertising as long as it will give you anacceptable return on investment." That's the arbitrage plain and simple. You use Adwords to lead customers to your niche page and hope that they will either buy your niche product or they will poke around in your Adsense ads an make you some money there. Makes sense to me!

Gary Huynh wrote today: "For the last three months I've been laser focused ondoing two things.1.) Using webpage generator programs to build hundredsof websites.2.) Using various methods to get those pages indexed within a week.A few people like me are using these techniques togenerate 5 figure Adsense income within several months.You might have heard the buzz. Let me tell you that it's for real." See? He's doing this same thing as well.

I need to work more on my niche pages. Still collecting ideas for making a viral ebook for Switchisp.com I tend to get interested in too many separate projects andthen my efforts get sidetracked and my interest is dilluted. My friend Hans would tell me to FOCUS! I'll do that today.

That's when I started my busines of publishing on the web. I want to do niche pages and I have so much to learn. First I need to know what niche encompasses. I've learned it can mean to just pick a subject and stick with it or it can mean to pick an object and stay with that. It means basicly to "specialize".

So what will I specialize in. My first business has turned out almost accidentally to be web traffic. I fell into that one and now have the web site set up...the pages run so well, but still I have had no traffic. How can I sell traffic, if I can't get traffic? Oh the irony!Now I have over 2,500 email addresses and I can't seem to sell those on the YMauction at a give away price. I have read that opt in email lists are passe. (YMauction might be passe as well. I should try eBay next time.)

Oh well. I have joined up with an autoresponder service. If the addresses don't sell on the auction, I will use them myself. I will have an instant 2,500 person email list! Now that is a terrifying thought. What will I say to them? The thought of communicating with that many people terrifies me. I know it's only one by one, but still....

So that's how I spent my July 4th... pondering these deep thoughts....Since then I have continued to read, read, read. I want to author a free ebook to help promote SwitchIsp. I love that business and will work to make it a go.

I have published two "niche" pages out there on the web. These are my first experiments. One is ID Theft This is a niche page to show my research about ID theft and how it can be prevented by using the StealthSurfer. I think it's a pretty good article. It's my best attempt so far to make from scratch a Google friendly page. I whipped it up in yellow and blue, but then I read a report from James Jones which recommends making the pages plain and making the ads completely white so only the Adsense links stand out on it. So, now I will not argue with success and will need to redo that page. I'll let you know how successful I am following James' recommendations.

My other niche page is Business Opportunity That one is promoting a directory that's part of a business being developed by some friends. It will have to be redone too. I liked it in blue (sigh) If you are a promoter or list manager, you will definitely want to go see these guys prelaunch page at Zurdu There's no google on them ;-)

That about catches this blog up to date. Gotta go back to reading about making my first ebook. Please don't tell me they are passe too! I will take that chance. The auction ends July 16 and not a single bid yet. I just might end it early and take back my leads for myown private list. They all say the gold is in the list. We shall see about that!
